Description

You will be warmly welcomed to our traditional home with up-to-date comforts. Shirley Samantha's is furnished with a mix of antique and contemporary pieces, and accented with the work of Canadian artists and artisans.

We are located on a quiet residential street within walking distance of downtown, close to public transportation and half a block from the Rideau River Walking/Cycling Path.

Delicious breakfasts, featuring Ottawa Valley produce and Cynthia's home baking are served in the formal Dining Room or on the deck in the shade of the maple tree. With advance notice, we will gladly accommodate special dietary requirements. Complimentary light refreshments are always available in the second floor Study.

Shirley Samantha's is a perfect base for taking in the sights and sounds of the National Capital and of Ottawa's Summer Festivals and year-round cultural attractions. Your knowledgeable hosts will be delighted to answer your questions about what to see and do.

Business travellers especially will appreciate complimentary wireless access throughout the house. Guests are welcome to use the desk and telephone in the Study.

$80 - $100 night

Rates for the Maple Tree Room: $90 single and $100 double, with a $10 per night discount for multiple night stays.

Rates for the crab Apple Room: $80 single and $90 double with a $10 per night discount for multiple night stays.

No deposit is required; guests are asked to provide contact information. There is no cancellation penalty. Guests are asked to advise as soon as possible if they must cancel their reservation.

Check-in in normally between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., but other times can be arranged. Check-out time is normally 11 a.m., but guests can leave their luggage for pick-up later in the day.

Driving directions

From Highway 417, take Exit 117 Vanier Parkway. Continue on the Vanier Parkway to McArthur Avenue. Turn left on McArthur. At the first traffic lights, turn left on Marguerite Avenue. Turn right on the first street, Carlotta Avenue. We are at #28, halfway down the block on the left.
